The San Diego County Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation, along with presenting sponsors The GEO Group,  Pacifica Enterprises, and Sycuan, will be holding it’s Second Annual “Support & Remember” Gala, on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the US Grant Hotel.

Support & Remember asks donors to do just that, support and remember San Diego’s law enforcement community. The event will raise funds to support the foundation’s core programs.

This year’s event honors former San Diego County Sheriff Bill Kolender for his six decades of outstanding service in law enforcement and on behalf of the entire San Diego community.

“Bill Kolender has been one of the highest regarded and most effective leaders in the history of our county,” said Matt Clay, President of the Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation. “I cannot think of an individual more deserving of a special night than Bill Kolendar, and we are all excited to spend an evening celebrating his legacy.”

Others on hand for the event include Sheriff Bill Gore, elected officials throughout the county, and other law enforcement leaders. In addition, the event will feature musical performances by the Mario Olivares Group with Grammy-winning violinist Charlie Bisharat.

The Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation, which is the non-profit charitable foundation associated with the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County, began in 2004 for the purpose of providing support to widows and children of law enforcement personnel who die in the line of duty. The foundation now provides sickness and distress assistance to San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputies and their families who are in need of help, have medical needs that are not completely covered by health insurance, or have other emergencies.
