The San Diego County Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that provides relief and support to San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs and the communities they serve.
- Critical Incident Fund to support wounded deputies
- Line of Duty Scholarships awarded in the name of each deputy who died in the Line of Duty in San DIego County
- Supports San Diego and Imperial County community organizations.
The foundation supports widows and children of law enforcement personnel who die in the line of duty and provides sickness and distress assistance to San Diego County Sheriff’s Department personnel and their families who are in need of help, have medical needs that are not completely covered by health insurance, or have other emergencies. The foundation has recently focused its fundraising efforts to benefit deputies injured in the line of duty.
To properly honor and remember fallen officers, the foundation supports the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Fund, California Memorial, and the National Law Enforcement Memorial, as well as, the local San Diego County Memorial Foundation.
Partnering with a wide variety of organizations allows the foundation to support the communities San Diego deputies live and work in. Through sponsorship, event participation, and donations, the foundation helps bring together law enforcement and residents, while promoting healthy living in safe communities.
The foundation also makes contributions to youth programs and organizations within the County of San Diego, including athletic, educational, and artistic endeavors. Donations are made to individual teams and schools, as well as organizations that concentrate on youth programs.
